Our original vision for Summit when we first thought about it is captured below:

Becoming the best version oneself is a fundamental human need and approach that goes fundamentally far far back and captured by philosophers such as Aristotle who implored people to find out how to “live the good life” and by countless religions and philosophies. It’s also one of the highest leverage problems - if all of us individually could achieve 1% more of what we wanted to in life - imagine the impact of that across the world!
We all desire to improve ourselves in some way - whether that is in our relationships (being a better partner), our careers (increasing our autonomy, creativity, our finances), our physical and mental fitness (hitting a 5k PR, eating healthier) - the list goes on. Often times we have some idealized version of ourselves in our mind that we know that we are capable of, however when it comes down to it - getting there is hard - really f%kn hard, and as a result, we all know the feeling of goals set but not reached and of looking back thinking where did the time go - but also we know of the feelings of when we do achieve our goals, or looking back on how far we have come - it’s great! Human and individual progress is amazing.
To help combat this - we have tools and solutions whether that be in journaling, habit trackers, or working with professionals like therapists or coaches. But there are challenges with all of these. Take coaching for instance - a practice that is focused on helping people achieve whom they want to be in the present and future - very effective, but the reality is that a $300/month coach is not something that many people can afford.

The good news is that as technology continues to advance, we believe there exists an opportunity to build a new type of solution that approaches human-coach-like abilities in unique ways that can enable all of us to have access to best in class coaching, accountability, motivation, and ultimately help us achieve what we set out to be in becoming the best version of ourselves.

Our goal and hope that is with Summit - as we look back on what we’ve built 10-20 years from now, we can say that we all contributed to building technology that was net good for the world and ultimately delivered on the mission of helping people become the best versions of themselves.
